Cookin' in the Park Friday, July 15, 2011, was a family event co-sponsored by Marshall Parks and Recreation and Marshall Cultural Council. It took place at Marshall Aquatic Center and included food, a table where park Day Camp kids and counselors helped youngsters create their own musical instruments from material found in nature, an instrument petting zoo and music by two local bands, The Swift Family and Lines of Atrophy. Thanks to Marshall Rotary Club & Chef Larry Askins for cooking the burgers and hot dogs. Thanks to the Park Department, especially Director Jeff Stubblefield and Activities Supervisor Lori Godsey for their hard work and support. Thanks to The Swift Family and Lines of Atrophy for their terrific music. And thanks to Keith Brown of Marshall for contributing the popular banjo to the instrument petting zoo!
